Disney is something we've probably all watched as little kids. But it's always been the same. There's a girl a boy they fall in love, and they live happily ever after. But, there never really been anything different its always girl and boy. Now Disney is coming out with a new story, boy meets boy. The article I read was called "Disney Channel introduces a gay storyline on Andi Mack" it's a quick fact article with just enough information that you're not reading all day. This article tells you how Disney is now being more inclusive. This article really made me think of lots of questions I have about the T.V show. Some of the questions I have will be listed below. 1. Why would Disney suddenly decide to do a gay storyline? 2. How did Disney come up with this idea 3. Why are people overreacting to this topic? You might be wondering "Why is she putting random questions on this blog?" well, I'm going to teach you how to answer these questions using the R.A.C.E format.
First, of all let me tell you what R.A.C.E stands for, R, restate the question A, answer the question C, cite information from the text E, explain your response Now let me give you an example of a response, Why would Disney suddenly decide to do a gay storyline? I think that Disney suddenly did a gay storyline because Disney feels they should support the LGBTQ community. The article says "More and more young people coming out as LGBTQ.". With Disney making this show include LGBTQ, these young people feel that they shouldn't be scared to come as who they are and how they feel, just like Cyrus did on "Andi Mack". I once read a book about a transgender teen named Jazz Jennings. She is a great role model for the LGBTQ community because she was at a younger age when she knew who she wanted to be, she was never afraid to stand up for what she believes in. This reminds me of Andi Mack because they are both role modeling for the LGBTQ community. Disney is now becoming more and more inclusive over the years. Next, to show you which part is which I'm going to colour each section. I think that Disney suddenly did a gay storyline because Disney feels they should support the LGBTQ community.
